Interview volunteers needed for Hi Tech Award Winner
SIR RAY AVERY REQUESTS COALFACE FEEDBACK TO PERFECT MONITORING PRODUCT FOR THE ELDERLY AND UNWELL.
Families caring for elderly parents are requested to volunteer for interviews with Sir Ray Avery’s Vigil Monitoring team, who want feedback on problems that they need solving. This will add value to the first “Peace of Mind” monitoring solution for the elderly and unwell Vigil Monitoring will roll that out later this year.
Vigil Monitoring won the Callaghan Innovation Hi-Tech Pre-Commercialisation Company at the 2014 NZ Hi Tech Awards presented in Christchurch on Friday. There were 6 finalists in this category.
“It is an honour to have won this award as it gives recognition to the phenomenal work the team is doing. However, as the category suggests, we are not there yet”, said Alan Brannigan Vigil CEO.
“To make sure we deliver the best product in the world for monitoring the elderly and the unwell we need all the help we can get so please step forward to contribute to finalising the shape of our product design and roadmap”.

The criteria for the Callaghan Innovation Hi-Tech Pre-Commercialisation Company at the Hi Tech Award recognised the potential of a hi-tech company that is a new venture with a clearly identified competitive advantage and almost ready for market.
Vigil is a privately owned health services and biometric technology company founded in 2012 by scientist, inventor and social entrepreneur, Sir Ray Avery and technology entrepreneurs Alan Brannigan and Graeme Fuller. Telecom New Zealand backed the company with a $5M investment in 2013.
Vigil offers an intelligent medical alarm using a bracelet and base station that will raise an alarm automatically if an adverse event such as a fall or change in heart rate is detected. Smart technologies such as this will enable more effective methods of medical monitoring.
Vigil uses new sensing and digital technologies to provide a range of intelligent biometric medical monitoring and care services that provide peace-of-mind to the elderly and unwell, baby monitoring and individuals monitoring their own health.
The Vigil products run off a biometric Cloud based platform, providing smart monitoring connectivity across a range of devices, providing active, continuous biometric monitoring in real time.
What the Vigil team are developing is a paradigm shift in preventative healthcare said Sir Ray.
