Gifted Kids Rotorua highlights importance of gifted education
Gifted Kids Rotorua class is supporting Gifted Awareness Week by creating their own gifted awareness projects to be shown on local websites.

The projects will focus on giftedness and the issues surrounding being gifted as told by the students of Gifted Kids Rotorua class and will be available to be viewed on Rotorua City Council website, Gifted Kids website from Thursday 20th until Sunday 23rd June.

“Our students are excited to present their projects to the community and show the public what being gifted really means” says Gifted Kids Rotorua Lead Teacher, Sue Bufton.

“Gifted Awareness Week is an opportunity for Gifted Kids and our students to demonstrate the importance and impact of gifted education in New Zealand,” continues Ms Bufton.

Gifted Awareness Week is celebrated in New Zealand from 17th-23rd June to draw attention to gifted people and the nature of giftedness.

This year Gifted Kids are holding several gifted awareness events, projects and activities throughout the country to highlight the need to educate and advocate the importance of gifted education in New Zealand. Gifted Kids was founded in 2000 to meet the educational and social needs of gifted children in New Zealand. Gifted Kids delivers services in Northern Wairoa, Auckland, Rotorua, Masterton, Hutt Valley, Wellington, Dunedin, and Invercargill.
