Arrests made in immigration investigation
Five people have been arrested as part of an Immigration New Zealand-led investigation into allegations of migrant labour exploitation and other immigration-related offending.
Those arrested face a variety of charges and will appear in Wellington District Court on Monday 10 December 2012. The investigation is ongoing and further arrests may be made.
The arrests are a result of a lengthy investigation by Immigration New Zealand and reflect Immigration’s focus on preventing exploitation of migrants.
A media release will be issued following Monday’s court appearance. No further comment will be provided until then.
