29th February 2011

Henderson Valley School is a semi-rural school nestled between farmland and bush at the foot of the Waitakere Ranges. The school is holding their first Gala in over 9 years on Sunday 25th March from 10am until 2pm. The MC for the event is local comedian, actor and singer – Pio Terei. Bands performing include Auckland’s most experienced Celtic band, Twisty Willow and Def Leppard’s support band from 2008, Jealous Itch.

Sponsorship is underway providing some amazing prizes to raffle and auction including a free castration by the local vet and a New Zealand Rugby League Kiwi’s signed t-shirt! There will also be a huge white elephant stall, pot plants, seedlings and seeds and delicious homemade preserves. Our talented and professional Playcentre painters, who have some stunning designs, head up the face painting. Also, there will be some excellent activities with a bouncy castle and the marvellous dunk tank for your favourite teachers, including our Principal!

There will be a huge number of food stalls to tempt your taste buds, including Pasifika meals, taco’s, spit roast lamb rolls, mussel fritters, cakes, candy floss, ice cream and the good old sausage sizzle.

Come and join in the fun and help us raise valuable funds for our School Network Upgrade Project, which is only partially subsidised by the M.O.E.

We look forward to seeing you there.

STOP PRESS****** On Friday 23rd March Tamati Coffey, the New Zealand television host and presenter, will be presenting his roving weather report for TVNZ’s Breakfast show live from the school from 6.30am.
