Cognition Education makes $2mil donation to benefit students
Cognition Education Limited (CEL) recently announced a $2million donation to the Cognition Education Trust to benefit students in New Zealand schools.
Cognition Education Ltd is a leading global education consultancy based in Auckland that works with governments, non-government organisations and schools on a variety of national and international projects to improve the quality of teaching and learning.
“The company is unique in that profits from its work are passed to the Cognition Education Trust to invest back in New Zealand’s education sector” said Cognition Education’s CEO, Dr John Langley.
“Many of the governments we contract to tell us that our philanthropy is a factor in engaging our services.”
CEL has contracts in the Middle East, Asia, the United States and Australia, as well as in New Zealand and the Pacific.
Dr Langley said that although 2011 had been a challenging year with a number of changes in the organisation and the global financial crisis, the $2million donation marked a significant milestone.
“The organisational changes and plans that have been put in place mean we can expect strong growth in the coming years, with future annual donations to the Trust” he said.
