Thirteen professors at The University of Auckland have been appointed to the rank of Distinguished Professor. The title recognises professors who have achieved international eminence of the highest order in their fields of research and study.13 December 2011

Distinguished Professors Recognised

Thirteen professors at The University of Auckland have been appointed to the rank of Distinguished Professor.

The title recognises professors who have achieved international eminence of the highest order in their fields of research and study. There are five other Distinguished Professors at the University appointed in 2001: Professor Ted Baker, Professor Brian Boyd, Professor Sir Peter Gluckman, Professor Peter Hunter and Professor Dame Anne Salmond.

“Our Distinguished Professors are held in high esteem by the scholarly community across the world and we take pride in recognising them in this way,” said the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Stuart McCutcheon. “We have some 261 professors in the University, many of them outstanding teachers and researchers. To be named a Distinguished Professor among such company is therefore a truly special achievement.”
