The thought of going to school during the holidays is not something kids want to consider, but what if it means learning to make their own twisted balloon masterpiece? The Balloon Skool, the newest addition to Bayfair Shopping Centre’s school holiday programme, will teach this skill and others as it helps keep kids entertained.
From 10 to 14 October, one of New Zealand’s top balloon artists, John Martin, will be giving kids the opportunity to have a go at creating wondrous shapes and designs with a sporting theme. The Balloon Skool will be located outside Farmers and will be in operation between 11am and 4pm.
Back by popular demand is the Eventful Kids Creativity Centre, returning to Bayfair for a second time this year. From 17 to 21 October, the Creativity Centre will forestall holiday boredom by encouraging kids aged 3 to 12 years to come along and let their imaginations run wild.
The school holidays are the perfect time for good, old-fashioned play, and the Creativity Centre offers a supervised environment for just that, while parents enjoy timeout for themselves.
The centre offers an exciting range of crafts and plenty of scope to let children’s ideas come to life. For the less crafty, there is the opportunity to create a story, animate it with puppets, dress up for effect, or share it with others using the story-boards.
Each child may stay for up to an hour at the Creativity Centre, with no booking or payment required. Please note that as the number of places is limited, this service is subject to availability and operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Located outside Farmers, the Creativity Centre will be in operation between 11am and 3pm.
“We’re delighted to be bringing some great school holiday action to Bayfair,” says marketing manager Nina Rivett. “This programme presents a range of options designed to capture childrens’ imaginations, whatever the weather.”
